About
DRAINTHEPAIN
Turning Waterlogging into Waves of Change.
Our Mission
Addressing Urban Waterlogging
Drain the Pain is committed to addressing the hidden burdens of urban waterlogging. Our mission is to raise awareness, drive practical solutions, and empower communities—especially young people—to take action against the social, economic, and health impacts of flooding. By combining education, innovation, and collaboration, we strive to create safer, more resilient cities where no one’s potential is drowned by preventable challenges.

Our Story
Grassroots action against urban floods.
In September 2025, 14-year-old Vansh Gupta transformed concern into action. Motivated by the challenges faced in flood-prone areas of Delhi and inspired by the resilience of his ancestral village in Haryana, he launched Drain the Pain, a grassroots initiative to tackle the pressing issue of urban waterlogging.
Vansh saw first-hand how seasonal flooding disrupts livelihoods, halts education, and compromises safety—especially for marginalized communities. Streets under water mean children miss school, daily wage earners lose income, and families endure unsafe, unsanitary conditions.
What began as simple awareness sessions and small interventions at the school level has grown into a citywide movement. Today, Drain the Pain engages students and volunteers to design low-cost drainage ideas, run creative awareness campaigns, and collaborate with local authorities to test scalable models.
We are more than an initiative to prevent waterlogging; we are a movement to restore dignity, opportunity, and resilience. By transforming young people and residents into active problem-solvers, we help communities take control of their environment instead of remaining helpless in the face of recurring floods.
Looking ahead, we’re partnering with organizations such as Tribes for Good to expand our reach and impact. Our vision is a city where water no longer paralyzes daily life but instead sparks resilience, innovation, and equity.
